A new showroom selling custom uniforms, branded apparel and corporate merchandise opened its doors at 27622 I-45 N. in Oak Ridge North on Thursday, giving local businesses a place to browse branded gear from Nike, Adidas, Puma, Dickies and the company's own house label. Zyrax Uniform Services held its grand opening in the one-square-mile city, positioning itself as a one-stop branding partner for restaurants, contractors, offices, schools and other organizations across South Montgomery County.
According to Community Impact Newspaper, the business-to-business branding and apparel company offers custom uniforms, embroidery, screen printing, promotional products and corporate merchandise, with the Oak Ridge North location serving as a showroom where customers can browse the full product lineup in person. Global CEO Mauricio Arechavaleta said Oak Ridge North was a strategic location for the company, calling it an important economic zone, and he said Zyrax plans to help and partner with local businesses in the area, the outlet reports.
Behind the showroom's shelves sits a broader supply chain few shoppers might expect from a storefront on the I-45 frontage road. The company's house brand, MAGTEX, was created in Monterrey, Mexico, in 2018 by founder Mauricio Arechavaleta following his earlier “Dos Banderas” apparel project, and Zyrax Uniform Services was later established as MAGTEX's master distributor in the United States to expand sales nationwide, according to MAGTEX.
Same-Day Embroidery and a Spring Warehouse
The showroom itself contains embroidery machines that allow for same-day personalization, per the original report, so a business can walk in, pick a shirt, and walk out with a logo stitched on. That inventory is backed by a warehouse in Spring that holds the company's stock and enables many options for immediate delivery, Community Impact notes.
Zyrax's custom B2B apparel programs include inclusive sizing from XS to 7XL, direct color-matching to brand standards, custom-engineered performance fabrics, and flexible order structures that skip mandatory long-term service contracts, according to Zyrax Uniform Services. That kind of flexibility matters in an industry where wearables and decorated apparel already represent the single largest product category, and where market studies indicate custom corporate uniforms can boost brand recall by up to 47%, per the Promotional Products Association International.
A Growing Market Along the I-45 Corridor
The timing lines up with a banner year for the branded merchandise business nationally. The U.S. promotional products and branded merchandise industry generated a record $27.1 billion in distributor sales in 2025, according to annual estimates by the Promotional Products Association International. The broader workwear and uniform sector is even larger: the global industry reached an estimated $67.92 billion in 2025, with North America accounting for over 40% of that market at $26.70 billion, driven by sustained workforce growth across healthcare, hospitality, logistics and service sectors, according to UniformMarket.
Oak Ridge North, incorporated in 1979 as Montgomery County's youngest municipality, spans just one square mile along Interstate 45 directly adjacent to The Woodlands, with a population of approximately 3,034 residents. That small footprint makes commercial storefronts along the freeway especially important to the city's finances — the town's B-2 Highway Business District zoning requires non-retail commercial properties to enter sales tax preservation agreements to safeguard municipal sales tax revenue along the I-45 frontage, a policy detailed by Community Impact in earlier coverage of the ordinance.
Part of a Broader Commercial Push
The showroom's arrival fits a pattern of commercial investment across Oak Ridge North. Public construction filings show the city has recorded 94 commercial development and renovation projects totaling $93.1 million in value, reflecting ongoing investment across its compact footprint, per Zabalist's project database. Traffic data also helps explain the site choice: the Texas Department of Transportation recorded over 22,200 vehicles daily along Robinson Road at its intersection with Interstate 45 in Oak Ridge North as of 2023, making it a primary commercial thoroughfare connecting the freeway to South Montgomery County residential developments.
Oak Ridge North and its Economic Development Corporation also cleared a milestone of their own in August, accepting an 18,000-square-foot shell building in the town's planned 60,000-square-foot Plaza District town center. Between that project and the new Zyrax showroom, the small city continues building out its retail base along the freeway corridor it depends on for tax revenue.
