More than 175,000 stainless-steel Gourmia air fryer ovens sold at Target are being recalled after their glass doors were found to snap shut unexpectedly while people reached in to grab hot food, leading to dozens of burn injuries. The recall covers Gourmia's 9-slice digital air fryer oven, model GTF7530, which retailed for about $150 and was sold at Target stores nationwide and on Target's website for the past five years until June 2026, as reported by USA TODAY.

According to USA TODAY, the recalled ovens feature two spring-loaded glass French doors with metal handles, and those doors can unexpectedly close when bumped while someone is retrieving food from inside. Gourmia told regulators it had received 57 reports of the doors closing unexpectedly on consumers, and the company also logged 40 incidents of burns to people's hands or wrists, per the same report. The recall covers more than 175,000 ovens.

How To Spot The Recalled Model

The affected ovens can be identified by checking the model and UPC numbers printed on the packaging or on a label on the back of the unit. The recalled version carries UPC code 810002862779 under model GTF7530, according to USA TODAY. Target customers who bought a Gourmia oven matching that description are urged to stop using it immediately rather than wait for it to malfunction again.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is advising anyone with the recalled oven to stop using it and contact Gourmia directly, USA TODAY's report notes. Consumers can reach the company during normal business hours at 888-834-0092 to arrange next steps, since continuing to use the appliance as-is carries the same burn risk that prompted the recall in the first place.

What The Free Repair Kit Includes

Rather than requiring owners to return the ovens, Gourmia is mailing out a free repair kit to affected customers. The kit includes a magnetic doorstop along with installation instructions. Consumers can request that kit by contacting the company at the number listed above.

Part Of A Bigger Pattern With Air Fryers

For now, Target shoppers who own the Gourmia GTF7530 are being told to stop using the appliance and contact Gourmia about the repair kit.
