A 23-year-old man was approached in front of 87-09 Roosevelt Avenue at about 4:13 a.m. on Sept. 14, 2026, when two unidentified individuals came up behind him, pushed him and began punching and kicking him. One of the attackers then grabbed his bag, which held his iPhone, his wallet with identification cards, and cash. The individual who snatched the bag fled on foot eastbound on Roosevelt Avenue.
The attack and the search for the suspects were detailed in a post from NYPD Crime Stoppers
, which says the victim's iPhone was valued at approximately $720 and that his bag contained about $40 in cash. No suspect descriptions were included in the post, and it remains unclear whether anyone has been identified or taken into custody in connection with the beating.

A Stretch of Roosevelt Avenue With a History of Early-Morning Muggings
The September attack fits a pattern of violent, early-hour robberies that have repeatedly targeted pedestrians along Roosevelt Avenue in Corona. In August, two suspects allegedly robbed a 31-year-old man at gunpoint at the corner of 114th Street and Roosevelt Avenue, a different stretch of the avenue, taking his cellphone and wallet before fleeing eastbound toward Flushing in a vehicle, according to QNS. That outlet also reported that, earlier in the year, a group of five suspected muggers targeted older men in a string of violent robberies in and around the corridor.
Those earlier cases included a March attack in which four people allegedly surrounded a 41-year-old man outside 104-29 Roosevelt Avenue and took his wallet, cash and two cellphones, the same QNS report notes. A day later, the outlet reported, three suspects robbed a 62-year-old man near 102-30 43rd Avenue of his wallet and two cellphones, and roughly an hour after that, the same trio allegedly shoved and struck a 47-year-old man at 108-02 Roosevelt Avenue and took his phone before running off toward 111th Street.
Precinct-level data reported by QNS shows a mixed picture over the course of 2026: robberies in the 110th Precinct were down 16.9% through late March compared with the same period in 2025, but had climbed 9.7% by Aug. 30 compared with the prior year. A separate analysis cited in earlier Hoodline coverage of a 4 a.m. Roosevelt robbery found that 26.7% of reported crimes in the precinct occur between midnight and 6 a.m., the same overnight window in which the September attack took place.
