Akron is starting Wednesday near 60 degrees under clear skies, but the warmup will not last. Rain is expected after 11 a.m., with temperatures peaking near 74 before falling into the mid-60s as southerly winds gust up to 31 mph.
Rain Arrives After A Warm Morning
The rain should become widespread this afternoon, with a 100% chance of precipitation. The National Weather Service expects a quarter to a half inch of rain for many areas through the event, while no watches, warnings or advisories are posted for Summit County.
The timing and extended outlook mark a notable update from Hoodline’s earlier forecast. Wednesday’s rain is now expected to arrive by late morning or early afternoon, and cooler, wetter conditions are shaping up for Friday and Saturday.
Thursday Offers A Brief Break
Rain should exit by Thursday morning, leaving Akron with partly sunny skies and a high near 64 degrees. Southwest winds may still gust to around 30 mph, so the day will be calmer than Wednesday but not exactly still.
Showers Return As Weekend Turns Cooler
Rain showers are likely Friday after 7 a.m., with a high near 57 and a low around 39 Friday night. Saturday brings another chance of showers and a high near 50 before mostly sunny skies return Sunday, with highs in the low to mid-50s Sunday before climbing to around 59 to 62 early next week.
