Albany is starting Monday with clear skies and temperatures near 38 degrees, but the Capital Region is headed for a much milder afternoon. Mostly sunny conditions should push the high to about 64 degrees, with a light south wind and almost no chance of rain. It is a calm opening act before a warmer, wetter turn later this week.
Warm Weather Builds Through Wednesday
Tuesday should bring partly sunny skies and a high near 66 degrees, followed by an even warmer Wednesday with mostly sunny conditions and a high around 70. The National Weather Service says temperatures will run well above normal through midweek, while overnight lows rise from the low 40s Monday night to the mid-50s Wednesday night.
Rain Arrives Thursday Morning
The quiet stretch breaks Thursday, when rain is likely after 7 a.m. and skies turn mostly cloudy. Albany could reach 68 degrees before the rain settles in, with a 60% chance of precipitation during the day and a 70% chance Thursday night. Rain is also likely Friday, with another mild high near 67.
Cooler Weekend Still Brings Shower Chances
Showers may linger into Saturday, when the high is expected to reach about 60 degrees and the chance of rain sits near 40%.
