Annie's Mimosas, the Placerville breakfast spot known for its brunch-forward menu, is expanding into Folsom with plans to take over the former Chant'el Cafe space at 1750 Prairie City Road, Suite 150. The second location will bring waffles, omelettes and burgers to the Folsom Corners shopping center, filling a storefront that sat empty after its previous tenant closed up shop earlier this month.
According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the Folsom outpost is a second location of the Placerville restaurant and will be run by the same couple behind that original eatery. The report notes the new spot is expected to serve waffles, omelettes and burgers, giving Folsom diners a taste of the breakfast-and-lunch formula that's kept the Placerville location running since it started operating in 2019, per a location profile from Hyperlikely.
The space Annie's Mimosas is moving into has its own recent history. Chant'el Cafe closed its doors at the Folsom Corners shopping center earlier this month, and owner Nina Getman confirmed the cafe plans to reopen next year in a new location, the outlet notes. Getman also said the cafe's lease terms had changed significantly and the new terms were not something it could continue with, according to the same report.
A Coffee Shop's Exit Opens the Door
Chant'el Cafe had been a fixture at Suite 150 since opening there in 2021, in a space that fills 2,226 square feet, the article notes. The abrupt shift in lease terms that pushed the cafe out left the storefront vacant just as Annie's Mimosas was eyeing Folsom for its next chapter.
For now, the known details are limited to what's been confirmed: the location, the menu items on offer, and the ownership connection back to Placerville. No opening date has been announced, and there's no confirmation yet that the takeover of the space has been finalized.
What Folsom Diners Can Expect
Folsom Corners shoppers hungry for brunch will have waffles, omelettes and burgers to look forward to once Annie's Mimosas gets its second location up and running. Those curious about the Placerville original, or wanting updates on the Folsom expansion, can find the restaurant's page on Instagram, though no specific announcement about the Folsom opening had been posted there as of this report.
