The owner of Mamma Maria's Pizzeria in Auburn is now facing three forcible touching charges after two former employees came forward with complaints. Iginio Labaro, 70, of Auburn, was charged with two additional Class A misdemeanors this week, adding to a charge he already faced from earlier this year.
According to fingerlakes1.com, Labaro is charged with two Class A misdemeanors stemming from the new complaints. The additional charges resulted from complaints by two former employees, according to the district attorney, as reported by auburnpub.com. The alleged incidents are connected to Labaro's pizzeria business in Auburn.
These new counts follow a forcible touching charge filed July 17 involving a third employee, the same report notes. All three charges remain pending in Auburn City Court, with none yet resolved.
Earlier Complaint Set Off the Investigation
Per auburnpub.com's earlier reporting, the pizzeria owner was arrested on a charge of forcible touching following a complaint by a female employee. That initial case has since grown to include two more alleged victims, both former employees of the pizzeria, bringing the total to three pending counts.
As Finger Lakes Daily News reported, the case has drawn attention from local news outlets covering the Auburn City Court proceedings as each new charge has surfaced.
Investigation Remains Active
The investigation is continuing, according to the district attorney's office, the same outlet reports. No timeline has been given for when the pending charges might be resolved or whether additional complaints could emerge.
Anyone with information related to the case is asked to call the Cayuga County District Attorney's Office at 315-253-1493. The office has not indicated how many, if any, additional complaints it has received beyond the three charges currently pending against Labaro.
