Baltimore starts Wednesday near 53 degrees with patchy fog, but the gray opening act should quickly give way to sunshine and an unusually warm afternoon. Temperatures are expected to climb to about 75 degrees, making this the last easy outdoor-plans day before rain moves back into the forecast.
Fog Lifts Before A Warm Afternoon
Patchy fog may occur through 8 a.m. and should burn off shortly after sunrise. Light south winds around 1 to 9 mph will accompany the warm-up, while clouds gradually increase late Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Rain Returns Thursday And Friday
Rain chances increase late Wednesday night into Thursday, with showers possible Thursday morning into afternoon and regional highs in the upper 60s and low 70s, according to the National Weather Service. Friday also brings rain, with an 80% chance of precipitation and a high near 72.
The Baltimore-Washington forecast office expects roughly a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain across the region through Friday, with locally higher totals possible near and east of Interstate 95. That could mean damp commutes and a messy stretch for outdoor events, even though the forecast does not currently point to a major storm.
Weekend Turns Cooler And Drier
Friday night brings a 50% chance of rain and a low near 53 degrees. Saturday should be mostly sunny with a high near 65, followed by mostly sunny conditions Sunday near 65 and sunny weather Monday near 62.
No watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted for Baltimore. Tuesday looks seasonable, with highs settling into the upper 50s and mid 60s for much of next week, but the warmest part of the week will belong to Wednesday before the umbrellas return.
