The Daily Sun reported that more than 400 local business owners, relatives and friends attended the 2026 Best Of Charlotte celebration, which featured business awards. The account provided here does not establish the award categories or winners; the separate Chamber recognition below should not be mistaken for a result from the celebration.
Charlotte County lists the Charlotte Harbor Event & Conference Center at 75 Taylor St. in Punta Gorda. That listing confirms the venue’s address, but does not establish that the Best Of Charlotte celebration took place there.
A separate Chamber award
The Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce lists Elite Hurricane Protection as its 2026 Small Business of the Year, a recognition distinct from The Daily Sun’s Best Of Charlotte event. The Chamber’s past-recipient list names Punta Gorda Adventures as its 2025 Small Business of the Year, providing an earlier example of the Chamber’s separate award program.
Business-related recognition is distinct from public recovery assistance. In a Sept. 29, 2022, announcement, the U.S. Small Business Administration said Charlotte County was among the counties eligible for physical and economic injury disaster loans after Hurricane Ian. That was a separate federal recovery effort, unrelated to the 2026 celebration or its awards.
