Bohl, the fast-casual salad and bowl restaurant that opened its first location in Elk Grove earlier this year, is planning to bring a second outpost to Roseville's Highland Reserve Marketplace, a Kohl's-anchored shopping center on Fairway Drive. The expansion would put Bohl's customizable bowls and salads inside a retail corridor already stocked with In-N-Out Burger, Blaze Pizza, Krispy Kreme, Sushi Kuma and Taqueria La Nueva Vallarta.
According to WhatNow, Bohl plans to open its Roseville location at 10357 Fairway Drive in 2027, with the announcement coming per an Instagram post from the company. The chain is owned by Kyle and Hailey Garrett of Elk Grove, who also own several Dutch Bros Coffee kiosks in the Sacramento area. On the company's own site, the pair describe themselves more fully: as reported by eatbohl.com, “We're Kyle and Hailey Garrett—husband and wife, business owners,” who say that “Since 2015, we've been franchisees with Dutch Bros Coffee, opening 13 locations across Northern California.”
From Coffee Kiosks to Customizable Bowls
The Garretts say their background in fast-service coffee shaped their approach to Bohl. Per eatbohl.com, the couple explains that “we longed for a place that was fast, customizable, and made with real, high-quality ingredients” — a gap they built Bohl to fill. The chain targets busy families seeking healthy fast-casual meals, and the Garretts were inspired in part by their own experience as parents looking for quicker, better-for-you dining options.
Bohl's menu centers on customizable bowls and salads, rounded out by sides like pita chips and grilled sourdough bread. The company's flagship restaurant opened in March 2026 at 9257 Laguna Springs Drive, Suite 100, in Elk Grove, marking the brand's debut before this latest expansion push.
What a Roseville Opening Would Mean for the Plaza
A Bohl location inside Highland Reserve Marketplace, located on Fairway Drive in Roseville, would add a healthy dining option to a shopping center already dense with fast-casual and quick-service competition. The plaza has drawn other expanding food concepts before: restaurantnews.com reported that Local Kitchens picked the same Highland Reserve Marketplace, at 10357 Fairway Drive, Suite 130, for its Sacramento-area debut, opening a micro food hall that launched with five restaurant partners and plans to add more options.
Beyond Roseville, Kyle and Hailey Garrett hope to bring Bohl to Natomas, Fair Oaks and Folsom, signaling a broader regional push for the young chain. With a single Elk Grove location open less than a year, the Roseville project would mark Bohl's first step toward becoming a multi-city presence across the Sacramento area.
