The California Highway Patrol issued an Endangered Missing Advisory for Los Angeles County.
The CHP - Alerts account tagged the Inglewood Police Department in its alert.
The advisory concerns Diaz, described as 58 years old, with black hair and brown eyes.
What Diaz Was Wearing
CHP's alert says Diaz is believed to be on foot and directs anyone who sees him to call 911 immediately.
California's Endangered Missing Advisory is one of several alert types the state recognizes for at-risk individuals who don't meet the stricter criteria for an Amber Alert. The California Highway Patrol's alerts program notes that the state maintains several recognized alert categories, including Amber, Blue, Silver, Feather, Ebony, and Endangered Missing Advisories under the Ashanti Act, and that the agency keeps a running list of information for all active alerts across California.
A Separate Inglewood Case Ended Safely
Inglewood has seen at least one other high-profile missing-person alert resolve quickly in the past. In one case, an Amber Alert for 14-year-old Nevaeh Holden, who had last been seen near 97th Street and Flower Street around 12:30 p.m., was canceled after she was found safe, CBS News reported. CHP issued that alert on behalf of the Inglewood Police Department. The Holden case offers an example of how quickly a missing-person alert can be resolved.
No update has been released on whether Diaz has been located or whether the advisory remains active. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 right away.
