Free Alarms and Home-Safety Checks
The City of Dayton says Fire Department staff provide and install free smoke and carbon monoxide alarms for residents who cannot afford them. Residents can request an alarm through the city’s online form or by email. For general home-safety guidance, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal advises residents to check that their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working properly.
