Downtown Los Angeles is waking up to a quiet, mild Thursday morning, with temperatures around 59 degrees before plenty of sunshine pushes the city near 80 this afternoon. The dry stretch is about to get hotter, with the weekend forecast calling for highs in the mid-80s and increasing fire-weather concerns across the region.
The National Weather Service expects mostly sunny skies Thursday, light north winds around 5 mph and no rain. Nearby passes and canyons could see stronger north winds, while downtown temperatures ease back to about 58 degrees Thursday night.
Friday And Saturday Bring The Bigger Heat
Friday should reach about 83 degrees under sunny skies, with stronger, more noticeable winds that remain below advisory level. Saturday should bring another 1 to 2 degrees of warming, with most coastal and valley locations cooling a few degrees Sunday as the sea breeze arrives, while dry conditions continue.
The warmer pattern was already taking shape in earlier Hoodline coverage, but the latest forecast adds a sharper warning for dry, occasionally gusty weather. The National Weather Service says elevated to locally critical fire-weather conditions could develop Friday and Saturday, with a chance of targeted Red Flag Warnings.
Sunny Weather Holds Into Veterans Day
Sunday should remain sunny and warm, followed by highs cooling by 2 to 4 degrees Monday and by 2 or 3 degrees Tuesday. Overnight lows will generally stay in the mid-to-upper 50s through the weekend, making evenings comfortable but still notably dry.
There is essentially no rain in the forecast through Wednesday, Nov. 11, with increased rain chances beginning Nov. 12. For outdoor plans, the main takeaway is simple: enjoy the sunshine, but avoid unnecessary flames or sparks as the heat, low humidity and offshore winds sharpen the fire-weather risk.
