A Separate Fatal Crash on I-5
In a separate incident, FOX 13 Seattle reported that a fatal crash happened Monday night, Oct. 26, on northbound I-5 near State Route 516, with the right two lanes of the freeway blocked while troopers investigated. FOX 13 said all lanes have since reopened, and that its information came from the Washington State Patrol. The station also reported that what led up to the deadly crash remained unknown at the time of its report.
A Separate Case
The Kent crash is not connected to a separate incident in August, when a 24-year-old Kent man faced potential DUI and eluding charges and a vehicular-homicide charge after allegedly fleeing Washington State Patrol troopers for about 13 miles before crashing in Federal Way, according to the Kent Reporter. That crash happened around 3:40 a.m. on southbound I-5 near South 336th Street, when the suspect vehicle struck an uninvolved vehicle that then collided with one of the pursuing troopers' vehicles. One of four occupants in the uninvolved vehicle died at the scene, while three others were treated for minor injuries.
No additional information about the driver, the victim or formal charges in the Kent crash had been released as of Sunday.
