A Louisville-area favorite has set up shop on Jeffersonville's Ohio River waterfront. Felipe's Mexican Kitchen has opened in the former El Nopal location, bringing Mexican dishes like fajitas and enchiladas along with cocktails, margaritas, mezcals and tequilas to the growing riverfront strip.
The new restaurant sits at 700 W. Riverside Drive, Suite 400, and according to the News and Tribune, it's now the newest business on that stretch of waterfront. The restaurant is already popular with Louisville residents, and its Jeffersonville location sits across the river in Indiana.
Jeffersonville's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area allows approved vendors to sell alcoholic beverages that customers can carry within the DORA's boundaries.
How Jeffersonville's DORA Rules Work
Jeffersonville's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area allows people at least 21 years old to buy alcoholic beverages from approved vendors and carry them within the DORA's boundaries, according to the City of Jeffersonville. The DORA operates seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the city requires that vendor cups carry prominent DORA markings so drinks can be identified within the zone.
The restaurant adds another dining option to a riverfront scene already drawing visitors to the area.
