A restaurant and working winery called LeoFigs has opened at 2201 Frankford Ave. in Fishtown, pouring house-made, small-batch wines alongside seasonal dishes and creative cocktails. The spot folds a functioning winery, a small market and upstairs dining into one address, giving the neighborhood a rare hybrid where the wine on the table was actually made on site.
FOX 29 Philadelphia's Jenn Frederick visited LeoFigs for a segment that aired Tuesday, describing it as an urban winery and restaurant offering those house-made wines, seasonal plates and inventive drinks, according to FOX 29 Philadelphia. The Fishtown address itself had already been flagged earlier this year by The Philadelphia Inquirer, which listed LeoFigs at 2201 Frankford Ave. among new Philly restaurant openings.
What's Actually Inside the Space
Beyond the dining room, LeoFigs houses a functioning winery as well as a small market and dining upstairs, per the same account from Resy. That same report notes the operation makes its small-batch wines and ciders in house, rather than simply stocking bottles from elsewhere.
On the menu, Resy's account describes housemade pasta alongside dishes like applewood-smoked mushroom pâté, duck confit and sage-crusted prime rib — a lineup that leans into scratch-made comfort food rather than a typical wine-bar snack menu. LeoFigs' own site sums up its pitch simply: seasonal plates, signature cocktails, small-batch wines.
The Husband-and-Wife Team Behind It
LeoFigs comes from husband-and-wife team Justice Figueras and Shannon Leocata-Figueras, who planned the restaurant and winery for the Frankford Avenue address, according to What Now Philadelphia. Exactly when that plan turned into an open door has been a moving target: one What Now Philadelphia report had Leocata confident of a late-March debut even as a precise date stayed elusive, while a separate What Now Philadelphia piece pointed to a tentative September 30 soft opening with a grand opening slated for early October. Resy, meanwhile, had reported LeoFigs would officially open June 10 following a soft opening in April and May. Those differing timelines were never reconciled in the available reporting, but the FOX 29 segment that aired Tuesday is the clearest signal yet that LeoFigs is now serving customers.
Part of a Bigger Wine-Bar Moment
LeoFigs' debut lands amid what The Infatuation describes as a growing scene of cutesy wine bars serving small plates across Philadelphia, a trend the outlet says is partly fueled by sparkling chardonnay. LeoFigs fits that mold while pushing further with its on-site winery and market setup, giving Fishtown diners a reason to treat the Frankford Avenue stop as both a dinner spot and a place to pick up a bottle to take home.
