Three men, including two from Victorville, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and burglary after Barstow police say they broke into a home on West Grace Street while armed with handguns and stole property and cash from the victim. Investigators later used a network of license plate cameras to identify a vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery.
According to Victor Valley News, Barstow police officers responded to the 100 block of West Grace Street on Saturday, where the victim reported that three male suspects armed with handguns had entered the residence and stolen property and cash. The Barstow Police Department said in a written statement that Patrick Richardson, 18, Malcolm Cleveland, 19, and Kyon Rogers, 20, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and burglary in connection with the case.
Flock Cameras Point Investigators to a Vehicle
Officers used Flock Safety cameras to identify a vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery, the outlet reported. That lead took investigators to a residence in the 1500 block of Armory Road, where the vehicle was found parked. Richardson, Cleveland and Rogers were all located at that residence, per the same account.
Investigators obtained and served a search warrant at the home, and police said evidence developed afterward linked all three men to the robbery. Officers recovered property belonging to the victim as well as a firearm that had previously been reported stolen, according to the report. Richardson and Cleveland are from Victorville, while Rogers is from Barstow, the station's report notes.
Suspects Booked as Investigation Continues
All three men were booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, Victor Valley News reported. Police asked anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Eric Santos at (760) 255-5134 or [email protected]. In a separate, more violent home invasion in nearby Lenwood, Hoodline reported a 44-year-old man was seriously injured during the robbery before two suspects were arrested. In that case, detectives recovered a portion of the stolen money at the time of one suspect's arrest.
Home Invasions Have a History in the Area
Barstow has dealt with home-invasion robberies before. In July 2020, Barstow detectives served a search warrant at a residence on the 28000 block of Bonanza Road as part of a separate investigation, according to Victor Valley News. Detectives in that case recovered firearms and rare coins, which the victim positively identified as property stolen during that robbery. Jace Criado's arrest was the second associated with that home-invasion investigation; David Tippett was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The investigation remained ongoing.
No court filings or booking records were made available to confirm whether charges have been formally filed against Richardson, Cleveland or Rogers, and the current status of the case has not been disclosed.
