A Halloween party packed with roughly 500 people in Adelanto turned chaotic early Saturday morning when someone pulled a gun on a victim and fired a single round into the air. Deputies rushed to the 12000 block of Stadium Way at about 1:17 a.m. after reports of shots fired, but no one was hurt and the shooter remained unidentified as the investigation continued.
Deputies Respond to Shots Fired Report Overnight
According to VVNG, deputies were dispatched to the scene after a report of gunfire came in during the overnight hours of October 31. Once on scene, they learned a large Halloween gathering was underway at the location, with an estimated 500 people in attendance, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Jenny Smith.
Smith told VVNG that an unidentified person reportedly brandished a firearm at a victim before discharging one round into the air. The outlet's report notes that no injuries were reported despite the large crowd gathered at the party. As of publication, the investigation remained ongoing, and no arrest had been announced.
Gaps That Remain Unanswered
The identity of the person who allegedly pulled the gun has not been released, and it is not clear what led up to the confrontation. Authorities have not disclosed a description of the firearm or further details about the victim, and the case stood as an open investigation at the time the report was published.
Not the First Time Gunfire Has Hit Stadium Way
This is not the first time gunfire has disrupted a large gathering in that same stretch of Stadium Way. In April 2025, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station responded to reports of people shooting at each other at the Adelanto Stadium & Event Center, also in the 12000 block of Stadium Way, according to Victor Valley News. As reported by the same outlet, the venue was simultaneously hosting a quinceañera, a birthday party, and a motorcycle rally organized by the High Desert Deuces motorcycle club.
In that 2025 incident, deputies recovered multiple spent shell casings near the stadium entrance, which officials confirmed had been fired from at least two different firearms, as noted by Victor Valley News. As with Saturday's Halloween party, no injuries were reported in the aftermath, and the investigation into that gunfire was also left open at the time of publication.
