A disturbance was reported on November 1.

According to a Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Facebook post, deputies responded to the disturbance call on November 6 and determined during their investigation that an adult female suspect allegedly assaulted the mother and her 11-year-old child.

A woman was arrested and charged with two counts of injury to a child. Under Texas law, that offense falls under Penal Code Section 22.04, titled “Injury to a Child, Elderly Individual, or Disabled Individual,” according to the Texas Constitution and Statutes.

Child injury charges have surfaced elsewhere in Harris County in recent months, involving different people, dates, and locations. In August, Click2Houston reported that a man identified as Oscar Vasquez was accused of injuring a juvenile during a disturbance before fleeing deputies and jumping fences in northwest Harris County. FOX 26 Houston reported that a woman named Kenia Orellana was charged with injury to a child after a disturbance-call response in the 4100 block of Swinden Drive, just before 12:15 p.m.

Hoodline will update this story if the constable's office releases further details or the identity of the suspect.
