A 66-year-old Henderson man has died after the vintage hot rod he was driving collided with a pickup truck on Interstate 11 near the College Drive exit. Jerome Howard Williams was behind the wheel of a 1932 Ford Hot Rod when it crashed into a 2026 Dodge Ram on Oct. 25, and he died from his injuries two days later, on Oct. 27.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the crash happened near I-11 and the College Drive exit. The Nevada Highway Patrol said Williams crossed over lanes in his Ford and struck the Dodge Ram, which caused his hot rod to overturn and slam into a concrete barrier along the roadway.

Williams was pulled from the wreck and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, the Review-Journal reported. He never recovered from his injuries, dying two days after the crash. The driver of the Dodge Ram, according to the same report, walked away from the collision unharmed.

Additional Details From Investigators

News 3 Las Vegas, which first identified the crash scene near the College Drive northbound off-ramp, reported that both vehicles had been traveling northbound on I-11 before the collision around 9:47 a.m. Investigators told the station that the Ford driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to maintain his position within the marked travel lanes before crossing into the Dodge's path. The right side of the Ford struck the left side of the Dodge, according to that reporting, before the Ford overturned and the driver was ejected.

The Dodge driver was able to stop the pickup on the right paved shoulder of I-11, south of the College Drive northbound exit, and remained at the scene to speak with investigators, per the station's report.

A Grim Milestone For Nevada Roads

The Nevada Highway Patrol told the Review-Journal that Williams' death marked the 66th traffic fatality recorded statewide so far in 2026. The crash remains under investigation, and no further details about a possible cause beyond the Ford crossing lanes have been released.
