Not an Isolated Case in Nassau County
The Hicksville burglary isn't the only recent cigarette-related break-in detectives in the county have worked. In a separate case, Christopher Gonzalez was arrested after surveillance video allegedly showed him removing cash and cigarettes from a Levittown smoke shop, according to Mid Island Times. Police said Gonzalez was also responsible for three additional burglaries at businesses in Bethpage and Levittown dating back to 2023, and he was ultimately charged with four counts of third-degree burglary. That case remains distinct from the Hicksville incident, and nothing in the record ties the two together.
