Signs reading “Opening Soon” went up last month on the empty building that used to house the Valencia IHOP, announcing that Huevo House, a breakfast and brunch chain out of Bakersfield, is moving into the space at 26135 Bouquet Canyon Road. It marks the chain's first expansion beyond Bakersfield.
The former IHOP near Bouquet Junction closed in late August, according to KHTS Radio. The building remained vacant for roughly two months before Huevo House signs appeared in October.
From Bakersfield to the San Fernando Valley Edge
KHTS reported that Huevo House was founded by Sameena Gill and Bhavya Kaur and began in Bakersfield. The station described the Valencia restaurant as the chain's first location outside Bakersfield, making it a new market for the business.
The Bakersfield locations
The Valencia restaurant follows Huevo House's expansion within its home city: KGET 17 News reported in August 2024 that the chain had opened at 1201 24th St., alongside its location at 3939 Ming Ave.
The menu described in KHTS's report includes omelets, salads, American breakfast plates, burritos and burgers. The former IHOP address has long been associated with breakfast dining.
No Opening Date Yet, But Signs Point to Soon
At publication, no firm opening date had been announced for the Santa Clarita restaurant, KHTS reported. The outlet also cited a statement from Huevo House's Instagram account saying the restaurant would open sooner than expected, without giving a specific date.
For now, Santa Clarita residents curious about the new arrival can only watch the building at 26135 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91350, for further signage or an official announcement. Huevo House's Bakersfield locations remain active on the brand's Instagram account, where the business has built a following of roughly 28,000 across its established restaurants.
