A medical transport plane crashed onto Roosevelt Boulevard and Cottman Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia in January 2025, a tragedy that ultimately claimed the lives of both of Dominick Goods's parents. Nearly two years later, the Imhotep Charter senior's football family continued to rally around him.
Goods's father, 37-year-old Steven Dreuitt Jr., and his mother, 34-year-old Dominique Goods Burke, both died as a result of the crash. Goods's younger half brother, Ramesses Dreuitt Vazquez, also survived the crash but suffered burns covering more than 90% of his body, according to CBS News Philadelphia. Goods Burke's funeral was held Thursday, May 8, 2025, the Inquirer reported.
CBS News Philadelphia reported that six people aboard the plane and two people on the ground were killed, for eight total deaths, and that two dozen people were injured.
A Team Shows Up
After Goods's parents died, his Imhotep football teammates rallied around him, an early sign of a bond that would carry him through the next two years.

From Middle School Lineman to Team Captain
Goods started playing football in middle school and has since become one of the stalwarts on Imhotep's offensive line and a team captain, the Inquirer's report states.
Beyond the field, Goods excels in the classroom and is part of Imhotep's exclusive STEM program, where he works on hydrotech farming projects and sports analytics. That STEM program organizes the annual community-service trip to Ghana that Goods was on when the crash occurred, an effort that serves communities facing water scarcity and donates over-the-counter medicines and feminine products. Senior Night
Imhotep Charter marked senior night with its football players and their families.
Goods told the Inquirer he appreciated the gesture but admitted the poem rattled him. “I appreciate it so much,” he said. “I'm just scared to read it.”
On the Field
On the field, Imhotep continues its season. The Panthers defeated Lincoln on October 21 and are scheduled to face Frankford High on Saturday, according to the Inquirer's report. Goods remained part of the Imhotep team.
