A 36-seat steakhouse with tableside-carved filets and beef trucked straight from a Chiefland ranch is taking shape on Beach Boulevard, with owners Tom and Jenne Corsano aiming to open Circa 26 in December at 1067 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach.
The couple is renovating the 998-square-foot space, according to a report from the Jacksonville Daily Record. The location sits less than a mile west of Third Street South and previously housed a Subway and, after that, a chicken-and-lobster restaurant. The dining room will hold 36 customers.
Circa 26 is expected to serve dinner only, Monday through Saturday, from 4:30 p.m. until at least 10 p.m., with the Corsanos saying service could run later if needed to accommodate guests. There are no plans for a lunch menu, the outlet reported.
Steaks, Seafood and a Tableside Carving Ritual
The planned steak lineup includes a 9-ounce filet, 12- and 18-ounce New York strips, an 18-ounce rib-eye, and 23-ounce porterhouse and T-bone cuts, all house-cut with several bone-in options. Beyond beef, the menu is set to include duck breast, ahi tuna, catch of the day, pasta, lobster and chicken, along with beer, wine and mocktails. Every entree and steak is planned to come with a house salad and one side.
Prices are expected to start at $28 for an 8-ounce prime sirloin, with other entrees starting at $26, per the restaurant's plans described to the publication. For those who call ahead, the restaurant plans to offer a whole filet still attached to the bone, roasted, carved and served family-style at the table.
Beef Delivered Straight From a Chiefland Ranch
Jenne and Tom Corsano have partnered with Quincey Cattle Beef, a cattle ranch based in Chiefland, to source their steaks. The beef is expected to travel directly from the ranch to the restaurant, where it will be dry-aged according to the specific section of meat.
A Steakhouse After Two Dudes
Tom Corsano is opening Circa 26, a steakhouse. The couple sold a couple of businesses about two years ago. Corsano was an owner of Atlantic Beach-based Two Dudes Seafood Restaurant, which planned a second location.
A second Two Dudes location was planned at Players Café on Solana Road in Ponte Vedra Beach, where Tom Corsano took over the lease, as reported by The Florida Times-Union / Jacksonville.com.
