Jewel Nightclub inside ARIA will close permanently after business on Nov. 21, ending a decade-long run on the Las Vegas Strip that included championship celebrations, a surprise Usher set and a 16-year-old's birthday party that made headlines of its own. MGM Resorts International says there are no immediate plans for what comes next in the more than 24,000-square-foot space.

The closure was reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which noted that Jewel opened May 19, 2016, replacing the former Haze Nightclub in the same ARIA space. Hakkasan Group originally operated the club; Tao Group Hospitality acquired Hakkasan in 2021. The resort's statement that there are no immediate plans for the venue was also carried in that reporting.

A Decade of Championship Parties and Surprise Sets

Jewel built its reputation as a go-to spot for Las Vegas-adjacent celebrations. Golden State Warriors players and owners, including Joseph Jacob and Peter Guber, partied there after winning the NBA championship in June 2017, while the Las Vegas Aces celebrated their second WNBA title at the club in October 2023, according to the Review-Journal's account.

Usher delivered one of the club's most talked-about nights when he made an unannounced appearance on May 3, 2024. The set, detailed in the same Review-Journal report, came not long after his Super Bowl LVIII halftime performance and helped cement Jewel's reputation for only-in-Vegas moments.

Dana White's Daughter Turned 16 in Style

Few nights at Jewel drew more attention than Dana White's rental of the club for his daughter Savannah's 16th birthday in August 2022. Roughly 300 invited guests watched performances from Lil Uzi Vert, DaBaby, Louis the Child and DJ MAKJ, while the celebration featured LED drummers, costumed dancers and a parade of 22 custom-designed birthday cakes, per the Review-Journal's reporting.

The Review-Journal's account also includes a conflicting detail about the venue's history: it reports that Haze Nightclub, which Jewel replaced, opened with ARIA in December 2009 and ran for 15 years, even though the same report places Jewel's 2016 opening in that former Haze space. The dossier of facts does not reconcile that timeline discrepancy.

What's Scheduled Before the Final Night

Jewel isn't going quietly. Its website lists Kid Conrad performing on Nov. 21, the club's final scheduled night, alongside Murphi Kennedy the evening before, according to 8 News Now. The lineup falls during Las Vegas race weekend, giving the club a packed sendoff before the lights go dark.

ARIA isn't losing its nightlife entirely. The resort's Alibi Cocktail Social was scheduled to open Friday, Nov. 13, 8 News Now reported, giving guests a new option even as Jewel winds down. In an Oct. 22, 2015 announcement, Hakkasan Group described the planned venue as spanning more than 24,000 square feet with room for up to 1,925 guests, according to Bar & Restaurant.

For now, MGM Resorts has offered no word on what will eventually fill the space once Jewel's doors close for the last time after business on Nov. 21.
