Silverleaf Turf Co., a mobile turf business operated from a Keller home, has expanded its services beyond installing playing surfaces. A partnership with custom steel-structure builder Metal America gives the company a way to offer projects that combine facility construction with turf, cages and netting.

Community Impact reported that the partnership began at the start of October. Under the arrangement, Metal America handles the concrete slab and steel structure; Silverleaf installs the cages, turf and netting inside. Customers can work with the companies on new construction or hire Silverleaf for a build-out or renovation of an existing space, according to Community Impact.

Silverleaf Turf Co. is owned by Jackson and Taylor Jones, who started the business earlier this year. The company's day-to-day operations run out of Jackson Jones's home in Keller, while products are stored at a separate Fort Worth address, per the outlet's report.

From College Pitcher to Turf Builder

Jackson Jones played collegiate baseball before starting Silverleaf. He has said that playing on turf was the best day of his season, and that the experience helped inspire him to enter the turf business, Community Impact reported.

The Fort Worth Report previously described Jones's approach to sourcing materials: “I kind of buy the product per project,” he told the outlet, rather than maintaining a large standing inventory. Jones also told the outlet, “Long-term, I'd like to bring that same standard to sports fields — baseball, football, softball complexes.”

A Growing Menu of Services

Residential and recreational work remains part of Silverleaf's business. The company installs turf for yards, pets, putting greens, playgrounds and common areas, and offers ongoing maintenance, according to Community Impact's report.

For sports facilities, Silverleaf offers turf for hitting and pitching lanes, training areas and fields, along with batting cages, netting and athlete equipment, the report said. Its cited suppliers include Superior Turf, Rymar Turf and TurfHub for turf; Cimarron Sports for cages and netting; and Portolite Mounds for pitching mounds. The company can also connect facility owners with HitTrax, a system that tracks swings for hitting data and simulation.

Eyeing Future Field Construction

Jones has also said he hopes to add baseball field construction to Silverleaf's services in the future, an ambition that aligns with the broader goal of building sports complexes he described to the Fort Worth Report.

Keller has already seen large-scale investment in that kind of infrastructure. The city's Keller Sports Park underwent a $40.8 million renovation that included converting baseball fields to turf infields, with the project set to unveil 12 renovated baseball and softball fields. As of Jan. 20, all but five of those fields had been finished and were available for use, according to Community Impact's earlier coverage of the project. That overhaul also includes a $15 million, privately funded City Sports complex planned adjacent to the park as part of a public-private partnership with the city.

A separate regional project was announced in Justin in September 2025. KemperSports described a planned city partnership with up to 12 synthetic turf baseball and softball fields and indoor training space with batting cages. It is an announced regional complex, distinct from Silverleaf’s private design-build partnership.
