A wing restaurant that started out selling plates at house parties a decade ago is planting its flag in Youngsville. KOK Wings & Things has leased an end-cap space in a new commercial building going up near the city's sports complex, with construction possibly wrapping as soon as January.

A New Build Near the Sports Complex

The building sits at 2600 Chemin Metairie Road, where KOK Wings & Things will open a location in a strip center, according to property owner Quincy Cawthorne as reported by The Advocate. The building spans 6,000 square feet across four bays, and Cawthorne said a dog daycare business will occupy the remaining spaces once construction is finished. Cawthorne, who is an attorney, bought the 1.48-acre property from Jordan Daigle, according to property records cited by the outlet.

Construction on the site could be complete by January, per Cawthorne's estimate relayed to the paper. That timeline would give KOK Wings & Things a fifth outlet to add to a footprint that has expanded steadily since the brand's earliest days slinging wings out of a Lafayette home.

From House Parties to Four Locations

KOK Wings & Things traces its roots to 2016, when four students at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette began selling plates out of their home at 117 Clinton Street, according to the company's own account on eatkok.com. The founders — Tre'Jan Vinson, Avery Bell, Corey McCoy and Jared Johnson — later moved into a food truck in 2017 before opening their first brick-and-mortar location in 2018, the site notes.

That growth hasn't slowed. The company says it now has over 60 employees and has donated more than $200,000 back to local schools and organizations, and its partners have said the business has served over 5 million wings, a figure reported by The Advocate.

Fourth Location Already Open in Lafayette

Earlier in 2026, KOK Wings & Things opened a location at 3221 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, its fourth brick-and-mortar spot and its second in Lafayette, set up in the former Hooters restaurant space. That brought the chain's total to four locations even before the Youngsville project broke ground. The Ambassador Caffery address also appears on the company's own site, which lists a soft-opening window running from April 17 through May 8 and a grand opening on May 9, though the listed dates do not specify a year.

With a fifth site now taking shape in Youngsville, KOK Wings & Things looks set to keep building on the trajectory that took it from a Clinton Street kitchen to a regional presence across Acadiana. No opening date for the Youngsville location has been announced beyond Cawthorne's construction estimate.
