Another section of plywood outside the A’s future Las Vegas ballpark just became a canvas. Las Vegas-based artist Gear Duran has wrapped up his contribution to the construction-wall mural series surrounding the stadium site, marking the latest completed phase of a project that’s expected to keep local artists busy for a year and a half.
According to FOX5 Vegas, Duran was spotted putting the final touches on his piece. Separately, another phase of the Las Vegas mural project was complete. The murals are being painted directly onto the construction wall ringing the ballpark site, part of what the outlet describes as an 18-month undertaking involving multiple artists.
The team says six Las Vegas artists in total will create original works for the wall before the project wraps, according to the station’s report. Duran, for his part, told the outlet the opportunity has helped build up the city’s art scene. “I really appreciate the sort of love that they’ve been bringing to a lot of the local talent out here,” he said, per the same account, adding, “It’s just been really great to see that they’ve had a really positive impact on the local art community.”
A Series Years in the Making
The mural initiative isn’t new. It launched in July 2026 in partnership with the global art activation agency Muros, as fox5vegas.com reported in September, describing it as a series of six planned installations over 18 months. The project kicked off with a debut mural from Las Vegas artist Brett Rosepiler before moving on to a second installment from local muralist Visual Bluff, also known as Ryan Jean, as detailed on the Athletics’ Las Vegas Ballpark Experience site.
Visual Bluff’s piece centered on bold, three-dimensional lettering spelling out “Las Vegas Athletics,” paired with baseball imagery and a player silhouette, according to 963kklz.com. Each new mural has effectively turned a stretch of construction barrier into a rotating public gallery while the ballpark itself takes shape behind it.
Ballpark Timeline Still Points to 2028
The A’s have said six Las Vegas-based artists are set to create original works for the construction wall ahead of Opening Day 2028, as the ballpark experience page notes, a timeline that lines up with the franchise’s broader construction schedule. The ballpark itself is expected to open in time for the A’s to play in Las Vegas for the 2028 season, the station’s report adds.
With Duran’s mural now finished, the wall still has room for more. The project is only partway through its planned run, meaning Las Vegas residents can expect to see new artwork continue to appear on the construction site as the team’s move toward its new home progresses.
