Twenty-five more films just earned a spot on the 2027 Las Vegas Film Festival schedule, pushing the event's growing lineup deeper into its eight-day run at the Palms Casino Resort. The announcement, dated October 30, follows an earlier batch of 25 selections revealed just over a week before, and organizers say hundreds more titles are still to come before the festival opens in January.

A Second Wave of Films Joins the Roster

According to a press release distributed through einpresswire.com, the festival announced its second round of Official Selections for 2027, introducing 25 additional films. The new additions include *Little Pills of Happiness* from Deni Plečko and Karlo Gagulić, and *Gypsy Moon Rising* from John DeMena and Vicente Cordero, among other feature films, shorts, documentaries, music videos and new media works now locked into next year's program. Those titles join the first 25 selections that The Des Moines Register and other outlets reported on October 22.

Festival Executive Director Louie Comella framed the expanding slate as a reflection of the strength of this year's entries, saying these filmmakers bring compelling stories that deserve to be seen. The festival has billed itself as an international cinema event showcasing independent, contemporary and international work, built around screenings, premieres, filmmaker appearances, panel discussions, special events and awards.

Dates, Venue and What's Still Ahead

The 2027 Las Vegas Film Festival is set to run January 14 through 21 at Brenden Theatres inside the Palms Casino Resort, with the festival planning to present more than 350 films alongside premieres and special events over its eight-day stretch. Organizers have said additional Official Selections, ticket information and programming updates will be announced in the coming weeks, meaning the current roster of 50 films is far from the finished picture.

Filmmakers hoping to land a slot still have time. Submissions remain open through FilmFreeway and Festhome, with a deadline of December 15, 2026, for projects to be considered for next year's event — the same submission channels named in the October 30 release.

Building Toward an Eight-Day Run

The rollout follows a pattern the festival set earlier in the fall. A separate September 22 release carried by einnews.com said organizers would fully underwrite film entry fees for the first 2,000 films submitted, and that filmmakers who had already submitted and paid before that announcement would receive full refunds — a move aimed at widening the pool of entries ahead of the staged selection announcements now underway. Between that incentive and the two rounds of selections released so far, the festival appears to be steadily assembling the slate it needs to fill eight days of programming across Brenden Theatres and other venues around Las Vegas.
