Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris is set to perform at the Houston Astros Foundation's 11th annual Diamond Dreams Gala, an Old Hollywood, red-carpet-themed fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, at Daikin Park. The evening, presented by Chevron, will bring together business and community leaders for dinner, live and silent auctions and special appearances, with proceeds benefiting programs serving people across greater Houston.
The gala is an annual fundraiser hosted by the Astros Foundation, and this year's lineup centers on Ludacris, whom MLB.com describes as a three-time Grammy Award-winning artist. According to CW39 Houston, the night's theme leans into vintage glamour, pairing a red-carpet-inspired atmosphere with the kind of dinner-and-auction format the gala has built its reputation on. The Astros Foundation has also teased the performance on social media, with its X account posting: “🎤🔥 The one and only Ludacris is coming to the Diamond Dreams Gala presented by Chevron on November 14! Secure your tickets today and join us for an unforgettable evening.”
Where the Money Goes
Proceeds from this year's gala are earmarked for a wide range of causes, including youth sports and education, childhood cancer initiatives, military appreciation, domestic violence awareness and homelessness programs, per the CW39 report. The Astros Foundation says it supports communities throughout greater Houston through its ongoing programs and partnerships, and ticket and table information for the gala is available on the foundation's own website.
A Record-Setting Prior Year
Last year's 10th annual Diamond Dreams Gala, also presented by Chevron, raised a record $2.1 million for the Astros Foundation and the Salvation Army, according to PaperCity Magazine. That edition featured rapper Flo Rida and was chaired by Janet Gurwitch and her longtime partner Ron Franklin. The evening also honored Astros partner and board member Mike Metz for his commitment to the foundation's mission and the greater Houston community, with the Salvation Army's share of the proceeds going toward efforts to reduce homelessness.
That prior gala, the outlet's coverage noted, combined its fundraising mission with dinner, live and silent auctions, interactions with Houston Astros legends, photo opportunities and dancing — a formula organizers appear poised to repeat for this year's event. Whether this year's gala will match or exceed that record total has not been confirmed, but the return of a high-profile headliner suggests organizers are aiming for another big night at Daikin Park.
