A man was shot to death Tuesday morning after an encounter with a possible home intruder in northwest Harris County, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office. Deputies converged on the 15700 block of Misty Hollow Drive following reports of gunfire, and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived.
According to Click2Houston, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office responded to the scene after reports of gunfire involving a possible home intruder. Emergency medical personnel also responded, but the man did not survive.
What Preliminary Reports Describe
Preliminary reports indicate a resident encountered an unknown individual on his property, and a shooting occurred during that encounter, the outlet’s report states. Beyond that framework, authorities have not released additional details about the man’s condition or what led to the shooting.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and no further information about the man’s identity, the resident involved, or the sequence of events has been made public.
A Separate North Harris County Shooting
The Misty Hollow Drive shooting is distinct from another incident in north Harris County, where deputies responded to the 16900 block of Spring Creek Oaks Court after a call that shots had been fired, as reported by ABC13. In that case, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said a man wearing gloves and a mask entered the home through a back door, waking the homeowner, while three other adults and two children were also inside at the time.
A sheriff’s office spokesperson told the station that the suspect and homeowner fought outside, the suspect left and later returned, and was then shot before fleeing over a fence into a nearby walking trail, where he was found. Constable Mark Herman’s Office also posted about that Spring Creek Oaks shooting on social media, writing that a suspect reportedly entered the residence through the back door and was confronted by the homeowner.
No details from the Spring Creek Oaks case have been confirmed to apply to the Misty Hollow Drive shooting, and the two incidents are being treated as separate matters. As of Tuesday morning, investigators had not said whether anyone has been arrested or what conclusions, if any, they have reached in the Misty Hollow Drive case.
