Dallas Place Has Seen Violence Before
Dallas Place has been the scene of gun violence in years past, though the evidence does not tie those earlier incidents to Wednesday’s shooting. In January 2021, The Washington Post reported that one man died and another was injured in a Sunday afternoon shooting in Prince George’s County, with county police responding to the 4500 block of Dallas Place in Temple Hills around 12:30 p.m. and finding two men suffering from gunshot wounds.
In an earlier case, NBC4 Washington reported that one man was fatally shot and two others were injured at the Princeton Estates complex, located on the 4600 block of Dallas Place, late on a Sunday. Police at the time said the incident may have stemmed from an attempted robbery and did not believe it was a random act. The man killed in that case was identified as 26-year-old Taurean Beard of Temple Hills, and a reward of up to $25,000 was offered for information. None of those earlier details have been connected to Wednesday’s shooting, which police continue to investigate.
