Maná plays Toyota Center on Friday night, setting a venue record while construction-related closures could add travel time on some downtown approaches. The arena’s event listing says this is the band’s 13th performance there, more than any other artist; doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the 8:30 p.m. show.
Construction closures are separate from the concert
For drivers, the key issue is the existing road work, not a closure attributed to the show. CW39 Houston, relaying Toyota Center’s traffic advisory, reports Polk Street closed to vehicles between Chartres Street and Avenida de las Americas, with pedestrian and bicycle access remaining open. The advisory also identifies closed southbound I-69/U.S. 59 ramps to I-45 as part of work connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center South Ramp demolition.
The advisory recommends that drivers coming from northbound I-69 use the West Gray exit and continue by Pease Street or St. Joseph Parkway. It gives the same street options to drivers approaching from EaDo and the East End. Check Houston TranStar for current traffic conditions before setting out, and allow extra time for the route.
Other Houston closure plans illustrate why event measures and construction detours should not be conflated. The City of Houston’s planned-routes schedule lists closures for Oct. 29 and 30, 2026, separate from Maná’s Nov. 6 concert.
The scale can differ substantially, too: ABC13’s 2025 Houston Marathon coverage described scheduled closures across streets along the race route. Those race-day restrictions were a separate, broader traffic plan—not a comparison for the specific construction detours around Toyota Center tonight.
A milestone built over decades
Maná’s venue record sits within a career that began in Guadalajara. CW39’s account says the musicians adopted the name Maná in 1986 and developed a sound combining rock with Latin and Caribbean influences. It also reports, citing the band’s biography, four Grammy Awards and seven Latin Grammy Awards.
Toyota Center is at 1510 Polk Street. The arena’s event information says it uses AXS mobile tickets and limits standard bags to 10 by 6 by 2 inches; permitted diaper and medical bags are subject to search. Check the venue’s event information before leaving for the latest entry details.
