Milwaukee is waking to clear skies and temperatures in the low 40s Sunday, with sunshine pushing the afternoon close to 57 degrees. The day will turn breezy, though, as west winds reach 10 to 15 mph and gusts approach 30 mph.
Sunny Sunday Brings A Breezy Afternoon
Expect dry weather across the city from morning through evening, with temperatures easing back into the low 50s by late afternoon. Gusty winds are expected from early Sunday morning through the afternoon, so lightweight outdoor plans should be comfortable in the sun but noticeably blustery near open areas and the lakefront.
On Lake Michigan, a Small Craft Advisory may be needed Sunday for gusty west to northwest winds; no marine advisory is currently in effect. Any advisory would apply to the water, not Milwaukee streets, but it is a useful reminder that the lake may be considerably less cooperative than the land forecast.
Mild Monday And Tuesday Set Up A Colder Turn
Monday stays mostly sunny with a high around 58 to 60, followed by another sunny and mild day Tuesday with temperatures reaching about 60. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 30s and lower 40s, with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and lighter winds.
The latest update adds more detail to the late-week shift outlined in Hoodline's earlier forecast. According to the National Weather Service, the warmer stretch gives way to a colder air mass beginning Wednesday.
Rain Chances Arrive Before Possible Snow
Veterans Day Wednesday brings a 20% chance of light rain late Wednesday night with a high near 53, while Thursday looks cooler with a high near 46 and another chance of rain. North winds will strengthen late Wednesday into Thursday, making the lakeshore feel colder than the thermometer suggests.
By Thursday night, temperatures could fall to around 33 degrees, bringing a slight chance of snow after an earlier chance of rain. Friday could bring rain and snow, while Saturday rebounds to mostly sunny skies near 50 degrees.
