An 18-year-old man was rushed to the hospital Sunday evening after being shot on Turntable Road in Murrells Inlet, with Georgetown County sheriff's deputies still working to piece together what happened. Deputies responded to the area just before 8 p.m. following reports of a shooting, and they rendered aid to the teen, who had sustained an injury to his lower abdomen.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to WPDE. His current condition has not been released. Deputies also found spent shell casings and a live round at a second location on Old River Road, though it has not been established whether that evidence is directly tied to the shooting.
Investigation Remains Active as Deputies Seek Tips
The station's report says the investigation remains ongoing, with no word yet on a suspect, a motive, or an arrest. Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office at 843-546-5102.
Two other Turntable Road incidents occurred in October 2020. A separate incident described gunfire striking a vehicle at a Murrells Inlet home, with deputies responding to the Turntable Road area after the report came in, as reported by WCBD/Count on 2. Investigators said a man fired shots that struck a vehicle before fleeing in a black Dodge Challenger, and that no one was hurt in that case.
Other Recent Cases in the Area
Count on 2 likewise reported on a Tuesday-night shooting in Murrells Inlet in which deputies responded to a Turntable Road residence after a man allegedly fired shots that struck a vehicle. That outlet reported no one was injured and that the suspect fled in a black Dodge Challenger, with the investigation described as ongoing. It is not established whether that incident is connected to the shooting that hospitalized the 18-year-old.
In a separate case, Count on 2 reported that Jamal D'Angelo Bryant was accused of firing a handgun at two people at close range on Turntable Road on Tuesday, Oct. 13. That report, too, has not been linked to the teen's shooting in any of the available accounts.
A shooting occurred March 3, 2026, on Greentown Road in the McDonald Community.
No connection between these separate incidents and Saturday's Turntable Road shooting has been established. Deputies continue to ask the public for help identifying what led to the 18-year-old being shot, and the investigation remains open as of this report.
