A retired Navy SEAL and his wife are turning an empty storefront in Tomball Town Center into a 14-reformer Pilates studio, with BODYBAR Pilates targeting an early 2027 opening at 14080 FM 2920 Road. Jeremy and Erica Beal will own and operate the location, making it a family-run addition to a shopping center anchored by Kroger near the northeast corner of Texas State Highway 249/Tomball Parkway and FM 2920.
According to Community Impact, Jeremy Beal retired as a Navy SEAL after a 23-year military career. Erica Beal told WhatNow that BODYBAR Tomball is a veteran-owned family business, and she said Pilates became her personal passion and the inspiration behind opening the studio. The couple will run the location together, per WhatNow.
The build-out will include 14 reformers and two private wellness and one-on-one coaching rooms, along with a curated lifestyle boutique, WhatNow reports. Community Impact similarly describes a studio featuring 14 reformers and two private rooms for instructor-led reformer Pilates classes. BODYBAR's own Tomball studio page lists Reformer, Jumpboard, Chair, and Tower equipment, and it notes that one of the brand's offerings is a 40-minute recovery-focused class.
Community Events Planned Before Doors Open
Erica Beal said the studio is offering community-building activities ahead of its opening, according to WhatNow. BODYBAR's Tomball page separately states that the studio hosts community activities including studio-sponsored mixers and theme nights. The brand describes its approach as built around balance, athleticism, and real community.
WhatNow reports that BODYBAR Tomball is transforming an empty commercial space into a welcoming community location and says the studio is committed to creating opportunities for local businesses, military spouses, veterans, and future Pilates instructors. Nathalie Hernandez is listed as the Tomball studio's manager and Ariana Nunez as its project manager, per WhatNow. The outlet also reports that BODYBAR Tomball is anticipated to open in the Tomball Town Center by early 2027, and that the studio plans to hold a grand opening celebration in March 2027.
An address discrepancy exists in the available records: a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project listing gives the address as 14080 FM 2920 Rd, Suite 1408C, Tomball, TX 77377, while BODYBAR Pilates's own Tomball page lists it as 14080 FM 2920 Road, Suite C. The same TDLR listing names the project BODYBAR Pilates-Tomball at Tomball Town Center and gives an estimated completion date of January 18, 2027, and an estimated cost of $135,744 — figures that remain estimates rather than confirmation of finished work.
Part Of A Fast-Growing Franchise
The Tomball studio is one of several BODYBAR locations expanding across the region; WhatNow reports the brand is working on its fifth opening in the greater Houston region and currently has at least four studios in the area, with more than 15 statewide. The chain's growth has accelerated nationally, too. BODYBAR had 46 open studios at the start of 2025 and grew to 73 by the end of the year, WhatNow reports, and the brand opened its 100th studio in Presidio this September, marking the milestone with a large-scale event celebrating 100 years of Pilates.
That expansion tracks with figures BODYBAR itself announced in mid-2025. Per PR Newswire, the company reported 150 signed franchise agreements, more than 50 open locations, and 24 more studios on track to open by the end of that year. In the first half of 2025 alone, BODYBAR said it signed 36 new franchise agreements, opened nine studios, and generated more than $10 million in systemwide revenue, while targeting more than 200 new domestic locations and international expansion within the following two years. The same release credited Jeremy and Erica Beal with signing BODYBAR's 150th franchise agreement, bringing locations to both Tomball and Magnolia.
BODYBAR's franchise structure requires operators to run studios with either 12 or 14 reformers, according to Franchise Chatter's review of the brand's 2025 disclosure documents. Among 21 studios the documents tracked for the full 2024 calendar year, 18 operated with 14 reformers and three operated with 12, the outlet reported — putting the planned Tomball studio's 14-reformer layout on the larger end of that range.
WhatNow noted it did not receive a response from BODYBAR executive Matt McCollum regarding the company's broader expansion plans by the time of publication. For now, the clearest details on the Tomball studio itself — its size, its ownership, and its target opening window — come from the Beals and the reporting built around their plans.
