A New Britain woman was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound inside her Roxbury Road home on Tuesday morning, and her husband was later found dead in a vehicle at a boat launch roughly ten miles away in Berlin. Police say both deaths appear to involve gunshot wounds, and they are now asking the public for help piecing together what happened.
Officers Responded to a Possible Suicide Call
According to WTNH, police were called to the Roxbury Road residence around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday after reports of a possible suicide. Officers who responded found a woman in a bedroom suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the course of the investigation, police determined that the woman's husband was involved in the incident, the station reported. Investigators located his vehicle at the Silver Lake boat launch in Berlin, where they found him inside with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
No Other Injuries Reported
Police said no other individuals were reported to be injured in connection with the incident, according to the same report. The New Britain Police Department has not released further details about what led up to the deaths, and the circumstances remain under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Jared Barsaleau at the New Britain Police Department at (860) 826-3131. Police have not said what, if any, additional evidence they are seeking from the public beyond general information about the incident.
A Separate Case in Woodbridge
The New Britain deaths come amid a separate case in Woodbridge, where, per a report from WTNH, a medical examiner ruled that a couple's deaths there were a murder-suicide. Details of that case were not immediately available beyond the ruling itself, and it is unrelated to the New Britain investigation. No further information about either case's underlying circumstances has been released.
