A nonprofit bridal shop that resells donated wedding gowns to raise money for women's charities is set to open its first Texas location in Dallas on Friday. Brides for a Cause will open at 136 Glass St. Suite 120 in the Design District, marking the organization's seventh boutique and its first foray outside the West Coast and Arizona.
The nonprofit announced the opening date on its website, telling shoppers they could begin browsing the new store starting Friday, November 6, 2026, according to Brides for a Cause. The Dallas store's address was confirmed by Dallas News, which first reported on the Texas debut.
Founder and executive director Erin Scharf started Brides for a Cause in Portland in 2012, and the company has since expanded to San Diego, Sacramento, Tacoma, Seattle and Phoenix, per the Dallas News report.
Designer Gowns Starting at $150
Dresses at the Dallas store were advertised starting at just $150, with most falling between $300 and $1,200, and all merchandise discounted 30% to 70% off retail prices, per the company's opening announcement. Scharf told the outlet that the selection includes designer dresses and floor samples that have never been worn down the aisle.
The Dallas store will stock over 500 wedding dresses in sizes 0-28. Brides for a Cause also sells donated veils and headpieces, as well as bridal separates and special-occasion gowns.
A 2,100-Square-Foot Showroom With Six Fitting Rooms
The company's own Dallas boutique page describes the space as 2,100 square feet with six private fitting-room stalls; brides may bring up to three guests. Scharf said she wanted a personalized shopping experience like traditional bridal boutiques for shoppers buying donated dresses, telling the Dallas News she wants brides to feel good throughout the shopping process and about supporting the cause.
The Dallas shop is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the Dallas News. Scharf said the Dallas shop aims to offer affordable, fashionable wedding dresses while supporting local and national charities.
Where the Money Goes
Brides for a Cause says it has given away more than $3 million to nonprofits.
The organization says on its own site that it has collected more than 40,000 dresses overall, per Brides for a Cause. The nonprofit currently accepts dress donations from within the last five years in any style, size or condition, and the Dallas News reported that donors receive a tax write-off for items they give.
The company also runs an annual discount event called the Dress Dash; its 13th edition was scheduled for January 17-18, 2026, with showroom-floor dresses priced at $150 at participating boutiques in Portland, Tacoma, Seattle, Sacramento and San Diego, according to Brides for a Cause. The company said its Phoenix location was excluded from that event because it had just opened, with each participating store expected to feature 300 to 500 wedding dresses at $150 apiece during the sale.
