The tiki bar taking shape inside Sequoia Brewing Co.’s North Fresno location finally has a name, and it comes with a pair of stone sentries standing guard. It’s called Lava Lounge, and it sits at 1188 E. Champlain Drive, Suite 101, where replica moai statues now flank the entrance.
The name and the first glimpse inside were reported by The Business Journal, which noted that the tropical-themed addition has been in the works at the North Fresno spot. The statues out front give the space an unmistakable tiki-bar signature before customers even step through the door.
A Brewery Brand Coming Back to Life
Lava Lounge’s debut is part of a broader revival at Sequoia Brewing. According to the Fresno Bee, Second Growth Brewing took over the business and has been working to bring the Sequoia Brewing name back after it had gone quiet. The North Fresno location sits at Champlain and Perrin avenues, the paper reports, and the site had a grand reopening scheduled for Oct. 10, 2025.
That North Fresno spot isn’t new to the neighborhood. The same report notes that Sequoia Brewing opened a second location on Champlain Avenue back in 2005, long before the brand’s more recent turnover and relaunch under its new ownership.
What Comes Next for Lava Lounge
For now, the moai-guarded entrance and the Lava Lounge name are the clearest signs of what’s brewing at the North Fresno location. Details on when the tiki bar will actually open its doors, along with what will be on the menu, have not been made public.
