A warrant is out for a 34-year-old Pennsylvania man accused of stalking and trespassing, and police want to know where he is. Palmer Township investigators are searching for Gregory M. Patterson on charges stemming from an incident in the 300 block of Stones Crossing Road.
The warrant was issued Nov. 1, according to Newport Dispatch, which reported that Patterson faces one count of stalking, a first-degree misdemeanor, and one count of defiant trespass, a third-degree misdemeanor. The case is logged under docket number MJ-03209-CR-0000177-2026, and Magistrate S. Hutnik signed off on the warrant, per the outlet's report.
Patterson is described in the report as a Black male standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. The same account says Palmer Township police are asking anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact investigating officer J. Santo by email or to submit a tip.
What Pennsylvania's Stalking Law Covers
Pennsylvania's stalking statute, codified at 18 Pa.C.S. § 2709.1, broadly defines the offense as a course of conduct or repeated acts or communications intended to place another person in reasonable fear of bodily injury or to cause substantial emotional distress. That language describes the general legal framework for stalking charges in the state and is not a finding about what happened in Patterson's case specifically.
Under the same statute, a first stalking offense is generally graded as a first-degree misdemeanor, which matches the charge listed against Patterson. The law also provides that a second or subsequent offense, or certain first offenses tied to a prior qualifying conviction or protective order, can be elevated to a third-degree felony, though nothing in the available reporting indicates that enhancement applies here.
Other Recent Stalking Cases Out of Easton
Patterson's warrant follows two other stalking-related cases reported in the Easton area over the past couple of months, though the available evidence does not establish any pattern connecting them. In one, officers responded to the 1000 block of Greenleaf Street at about 2:38 p.m. on Sept. 11 for a harassment report, and Barry Edward Reinert, 33, of Pennsylvania, was later charged by criminal complaint on Sept. 14 with stalking, criminal trespass-enter structure, and harassment.
In a separate case, George Virgil Dayton Jr., 51, of Pennsylvania, was taken into custody by Atlantic City police on Sept. 18, the outlet reported. Each of these cases was handled independently, and no outcome or court update for Patterson has been reported.
