The Amazon distribution center in Bradley Street Commerce Park is a 77,400-square-foot site that the company identifies as WNY6. It is located between Interstate 81 and a UPS facility behind the Caprara Honda dealership, according to the Watertown Daily Times report published by nny360.com.
The facility began operating about a week before the report appeared. Its opening had initially been planned for September, but the reason for the delay was not disclosed, the Watertown Daily Times reported.
Amazon is recruiting delivery drivers and package handlers for the Pamelia site, according to job listings cited in that report. The facility is expected to employ about 150 people, while Amazon has provided few details about its workforce or day-to-day operations.
The Buffalo-based Montante Group designed and developed the building and leases it to Amazon. Construction started late last summer. The group has also built Amazon distribution centers in Tonawanda and Salem, Massachusetts; both are at least twice the size of the Pamelia facility, according to the Watertown Daily Times’ earlier account.
