Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena is bringing back Winter Frolic on Friday, November 6. The museum closed for several days before the event, which features winter-themed play and a sock-skating rink instead of ice.
Kidspace’s event page says the museum closed November 2 through 5 to prepare. Its no-ice Sock Skating Rink costs $6 for visitors of all ages, according to the museum. NBC Los Angeles also reported that the rink uses a non-ice surface.
What's Included Beyond the Rink
The museum’s event page also lists a trike ride through a winter wonderland, a life-size Snow Family visitors can dress up, and frost-free ice blocks for building winter scenes. NBC Los Angeles reported that the seasonal activities include a large gingerbread-house setup for trike rides.
Kidspace is at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd. in Pasadena, near the Rose Bowl Stadium, according to NBC Los Angeles. The museum’s hours-and-admission page says general admission is non-refundable and non-transferable, and that it does not accept cash.
Admission and Planning a Visit
NBC Los Angeles reported that timed general admission is $17 per person for ages 1 and up, while admission for visitors 62 and older is $15; Kidspace members enter free. Most Winter Frolic activities are included with regular admission, the outlet said, and visitors can reserve timed tickets in advance.
Kidspace also continues its Toddler Tuesdays programming, which NBC Los Angeles described as featuring seasonal toddler-adapted play spaces, art, sensory stations, imaginative play, and storytime. Lisa Clements, quoted by the outlet, said Winter Frolic gives families a place to connect and play together.
A separate Kidspace event listing describes a Winter Frolic running November 7 through January 11, 2026, with sock-skating priced at an additional $5.50 per person. It lists ice fishing on a blue sand lake and building sculptures with frostbite-free ice blocks. Those dates and prices describe a different season: the current Winter Frolic page starts the event November 6 but does not specify an end date.
Past seasons and getting there
The event’s documented dates and rink fees have varied by season. A Kidspace press release described its first annual Winter Frolic as running November 19 through January 9, 2022. The separate listing noted above gives dates of November 7 through January 11, 2026, and an additional $5.50 fee for sock skating; the current listing prices the rink at $6.
For arrival planning, Kidspace says free parking is available in Rose Bowl Lot I, near the Jackie Robinson Baseball Field and the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center. The museum also says visitors can reach it via the Metro and Pasadena Transit, according to its hours-and-admission page.
