Deputies in the Patterson Community are asking anyone with information to come forward after someone broke into Cheeks Grill and Convenience Store in the middle of the night. The break-in happened at approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 30, and investigators say the suspect vehicle appeared to be a Toyota 4Runner.
According to 860wacb.com, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individuals involved. The convenience store sits at 2689 Blowing Rock Boulevard in the Patterson Community, and the station reports that unknown individuals broke into the business overnight on October 30.
Deputies Point to a Toyota 4Runner
Investigators have released few details about what happened inside Cheeks Grill, but the vehicle description is the clearest lead so far. Per the same report, the suspect vehicle appears to be a Toyota 4Runner, and the sheriff’s office is hoping someone in the community recognizes it or saw it near the store around the time of the break-in.
The sheriff’s office is directing anyone with information to Det. Morell at 828-758-2324, the station notes. Those who would rather stay out of it entirely can call Lenoir Caldwell County Crime Stoppers at 828-758-8300, where tipsters are allowed to remain anonymous.
Post Edited to Include Photos From Two Other Counties
In its own post on the case, the Caldwell County Sheriff's Office described asking the public for help identifying individuals involved in the break-in at Cheeks Grill. The sheriff’s office later edited that Facebook post to add pictures from stores in Wilkes and Alexander counties from the same night.
The addition suggests investigators are looking at whether the Patterson break-in connects to activity elsewhere, though no further detail has been released about those other locations. For now, the sheriff’s office is relying on the public to help fill in the gaps, with Det. Morell’s direct line and the Crime Stoppers hotline serving as the two ways for residents to share what they know.
