Details From the Missing Persons Report
The Philadelphia Police Department says it is asking for the public's assistance in locating 12-year-old Eric Beard Jr., who was reported missing, according to the department's news blotter. The department's listing ties the case to the 19th District. As reported by Newport Dispatch, Beard was last seen on Oct. 30 in the 5100 block of Haverford Avenue.
Beard is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 110 pounds, per the same account. He is known to frequent 4700 Chestnut Street, the report notes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the Southwest Detective Division at 215-686-3183 or 215-686-3184.
Other Recent Missing-Juvenile Cases in Philadelphia
Beard's case follows a string of similar appeals from Philadelphia police this year. In an appeal published on August 3, 2026, the department's Central Detective Division asked for help locating 13-year-old Isaias Rodney from the 22nd District, who was last seen on July 28 at approximately 5:30 p.m., according to phillypolice.com. Rodney was described as a Black male, 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds, and was known to frequent the MLK Center and a local Boys & Girls Club. Police asked anyone with information in that case to contact the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3093 or 215-686-3094, or call 911.
Not every missing-child case in the city has ended without resolution. Earlier this month, Newport Dispatch reported that a 7-year-old boy, Franklin Gibson, who had been reported missing from a school in the city's 15th District, had been found. Gibson was last seen at approximately 2:55 p.m. at Penny Packer School, located at 1858 E. Washington Lane, according to that report.
No update has been provided on Beard's case, and it remains unclear whether he has been located. Philadelphia police continue to ask anyone with information to come forward.
