Ridley Township police are seeking help identifying a man they believe assaulted a 77-year-old pedestrian on Chester Pike in Crum Lynne on Wednesday. 6abc Philadelphia reported that police released surveillance photos of the suspect and described the attack as random.
The available account does not explain what preceded the assault or give an update on the victim’s condition. It also does not establish that the surveillance images show the attack itself; police released images to help identify the person they are seeking.
A separate Delaware County assault
The Ridley Township case is distinct from another assault reported in Delaware County: NBC10 Philadelphia reported that a crossing guard was attacked outside Walnut Street Elementary School, near South 6th and Walnut streets in Darby Borough, around 3:50 p.m. on Monday, March 16. That incident involved a different victim and location. These separate reports do not, by themselves, establish a trend or a connection between the cases.
For the Chester Pike investigation, 6abc’s report directs anyone with information about the suspect to contact the Ridley Park Police Department.
