Rally House is planting two more flags in Baton Rouge, with new storefronts headed for Nicholson Drive across from Tiger Stadium and for Highland Road near LSU's North Gates. The sports apparel chain already has a presence along Siegen Lane and inside the Mall of Louisiana, and these additions push its local footprint deeper into the heart of LSU game-day territory.

According to WBRZ, the retailer announced plans in September for a store on Nicholson Drive near Matherne's, positioned directly across the street from Tiger Stadium. Rally House's own announcement describes the Nicholson Gateway location at 3644 Nicholson Drive as sitting across from LSU's Death Valley and the PMAC, according to Rally House's blog.

There's a wrinkle on timing for that Nicholson Drive store. Rally House's own announcement says the Nicholson Gateway location will open in November, while WBRZ's reporting gives an expected opening date of February 12, 2027. The two accounts don't line up, and nothing in the available record resolves which timeline is accurate.

A Second Store Takes Over a Former Five Guys

The second new location is planned for 3332 Highland Road, near LSU's North Gates and next to Chipotle, per the same company announcement. Rally House has signed a lease for roughly 3,200 square feet in the former Five Guys space on Highland Road next to Chipotle, according to the Business Report.

Here, too, the timing details diverge slightly between sources. Rally House's announcement puts the Highland Road opening in the early part of next year, while WBRZ's reporting specifies an expected opening date of February 26, 2027.

Part of a Bigger Collegiate-Market Push

Rally House frames the two Baton Rouge additions as part of a broader strategy of expanding into prominent collegiate markets, the company's announcement states. Aaron Liebert, Rally House's owner and CEO, said the new locations would help the retailer better connect with the LSU community. “These stores give us an opportunity to better serve the students, alumni and fans,” Liebert said, per the company's blog post.

The retailer's growth has been swift. Rally House reported operating more than 150 locations across 15 states in May 2023, a figure that has since grown to more than 320 locations across 30 states, including four in Louisiana, the company says.

Baton Rouge has been part of that trajectory from early on. Rally House opened its first Louisiana store at Siegen Lane Marketplace in the city in May 2023, according to a PR Newswire release announcing the debut. That original store stocks merchandise spanning the LSU Tigers, Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans and even the Houston Astros, the release noted at the time.

With two more storefronts now in the pipeline right along LSU's campus corridor, Rally House's bet on Baton Rouge fans appears far from finished — even if the exact calendar for when the doors open remains, for now, a matter of which announcement you believe.
