The 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards return to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas next Thursday, Nov. 12, bringing a star-studded performer lineup and a nominations race topped by songwriter-producer Edgar Barrera, who racked up 10 nods this year. Rosalía, Daddy Yankee and Silvana Estrada are among the scheduled performers, and Roselyn Sánchez is set to return as host.
Barrera's haul leads the field by a wide margin, according to the Latin Recording Academy, which credits him with nominations in record of the year, producer of the year and songwriter of the year, plus two nods apiece in album of the year and song of the year. Karol G is among this year's nominees, while Carín León is part of the performer lineup. NPR reports that Rosalía, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso and Jorge Drexler are tied for the next-highest total, each pulling in seven nominations, as NPR detailed in its rundown of the nominations.
Univision, which will carry the telecast, separately notes that Rosalía is competing in seven categories of her own. Karol G also holds seven nominations, while Silvana Estrada and Mon Laferte each picked up six nominations apiece, including nods in record, album and song of the year.
A Ranchera Tribute and a Packed Performer Roster
The show is set to include a tribute to the late Mexican ranchera singer-songwriter José Alfredo Jiménez, with Barrera serving as the tribute's musical producer, the Latin Recording Academy says. It's one piece of a performer lineup that the academy has rolled out in stages, most recently adding Cristian Castro, Camila Fernández, Feid, Luis Figueroa, Fonseca, Grupo Frontera, Milo J, Niña Pastori, Reik, Sofía Reyes, Yami Safdie and The Warning to a bill that already included Rosalía, Silvana Estrada and 2026 Person of the Year honoree Daddy Yankee, as first reported by Rolling Stone.
The performer roster also includes Juanes, Anitta, Banda Los Recoditos, Jorge Drexler, Kany García, Mon Laferte, Vivir Quintana, Rawayana, Elena Rose and Xavi.
How and When to Watch
Univision says viewers in the United States can catch the ceremony live on Univision, ViX, UNIMÁS and Galavisión. The Latin Recording Academy lists the three-hour telecast at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central), preceded by a one-hour pre-show at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central).
Best New Artist Field and Awards Format
This year's Best New Artist nominees include Delilah, Fabian, Loulu Gilberto, Arath Herce, Macario Martínez, Maye, Sofia Monroy, Kendall Peña, Dora Sanches, Aria Vega and Zeca Veloso. As is standard for the ceremony, the majority of awards are handed out before the primetime telecast, during a separate premiere ceremony, rather than live on air.
The Grammys-Latin Grammys Connection
Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, has described the relationship between his organization and the Recording Academy — the group behind the flagship Grammy Awards — as something like sister organizations, sharing a membership-based model built around celebrating musical excellence, in an AP interview. Abud characterized Latin Grammy voting as essentially identical to Grammy voting but adjusted for international considerations, noting that while the Grammys focus on the U.S. market, the Latin Grammys weigh different global factors. The Recording Academy invited all Latin Grammy voting members to join its new member class in 2025.
