Sacramento’s Thursday fog and mist have cleared; the city is sunny and headed for a high near 70 degrees. The bigger story is a stretch of dry weather, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 70 to 72 through the weekend. The National Weather Service forecast gives the current conditions and outlook.
Foggy Morning Gives Way To Sunshine
Thursday’s early fog has cleared: Sacramento Executive Airport was clear with 10-mile visibility at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, and no rain is expected today. Temperatures should drop to about 45 degrees overnight under mostly clear skies. The National Weather Service’s current observation and forecast give the latest conditions and overnight low.
Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 70, followed by sunny skies and highs around 72 on Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows during the forecast week will be in the mid-to-upper 40s, so early walkers, cyclists and patio regulars may want a light layer before the afternoon warmth arrives.
The fog story may not be over for the region: the Sacramento weather office says areas of valley fog could reduce visibility and create travel impacts on the next few mornings. That broader outlook does not mean fog is forecast at every location, but it puts early commuters on notice to allow extra time if visibility drops.
The mild weekend is part of a broader warm pattern across interior Northern California: the National Weather Service says above-normal highs are expected through the weekend. It also expects breezy to gusty north-to-east winds through the weekend, shifting onshore next week, so sunny skies may still feel blustery at times.
Dry Weather Holds Through Tuesday
Monday and Tuesday will stay mostly sunny, with highs near 71 and little chance of rain. Wednesday is Veterans Day.
That is a much calmer setup than the earlier Sacramento outlook, which had focused on a wetter turn and Tuesday rain, as Hoodline previously reported. No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Sacramento.
