Seattle is getting a short breather Sunday after a wet, windy overnight stretch. Skies were mostly cloudy early Sunday, and post-frontal showers should dry up during the afternoon. The afternoon should turn partly sunny, but highs will stay in the mid-50s.
Showers Fade As Winds Ease
The National Weather Service expects post-frontal showers to dry up during the afternoon, with south-southwest winds easing from morning gusts of up to 29 mph. Temperatures should fall from about 56 degrees around midday to the low 50s by late afternoon. Sunday evening looks calmer, with partly cloudy skies and light winds.
Monday Brings The Next Soaking
Some overnight clearing is expected, with lows around 40 degrees in most places, a few degrees either side, but the dry break will not last long. Monday stays cloudy before rain arrives after 1 p.m., with a high near 55 and a 100% chance of precipitation. Rain continues Monday night as temperatures dip only to around 50 degrees.
Rain Returns Repeatedly Through Saturday
Tuesday brings another round of rain, a high near 57 and possible rainfall totals between a quarter and half an inch. Wednesday could be the warmest day of the week, reaching about 63 degrees under mostly cloudy skies, before rain chances increase again Thursday night, Friday and Saturday. The broader pattern points to several rounds of wet weather rather than one single washout.
Coastal And Marine Conditions Stay Rougher
Seattle’s city forecast is calmer Sunday than the regional marine outlook, but coastal and boating plans still warrant caution. A high surf warning remains in effect along the Washington coast through 10 p.m. Sunday, while area waters could see additional wind and wave headlines as the next systems arrive. The updated forecast is a substantive shift from Saturday’s Hoodline forecast, with Seattle’s strongest winds now easing and Monday’s rain taking center stage.
