A national storage chain just made its first entry into Dallas-Fort Worth, opening four large-format facilities across the metro in a single move that pushes its nationwide footprint past the 100-store mark for the first time. SecureSpace says the four properties together offer 751,000 square feet of storage space across 5,580 units, giving the company an instant presence in one of Texas's busiest metro areas.

The company said it has opened four new locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth MSA, marking its first entry into the area, according to a release distributed via PR Newswire. The four stores have been rebranded as SecureSpace Saginaw, SecureSpace Chisholm Trail, SecureSpace West Plano, and SecureSpace Euless, spreading the new footprint across the northwest, northeast, southwest, and mid-cities pockets of the metroplex. The openings bring SecureSpace's total store count to 101, surpassing 100 locations nationwide for the first time, the company said.

Four Corners of the Metroplex

SecureSpace Saginaw sits northwest of the metroplex in Fort Worth, while SecureSpace West Plano covers the northeast side and SecureSpace Chisholm Trail anchors the southwest in Crowley. SecureSpace Euless, meanwhile, anchors the mid-cities corridor, with visibility along Trinity Boulevard and South Highway 157 where more than 47,000 vehicles pass daily. The other three properties see average daily traffic of approximately 22,000 vehicles along their primary thoroughfares, according to the same release reported by StreetInsider.

SecureSpace Euless's facility page describes All Storage - Viridian, according to SecureSpace's website. The company describes all four properties as large-format, multi-story Class A facilities built between 2022 and 2024, each more than 90% climate-controlled.

Renovations Underway While Doors Stay Open

SecureSpace says it is enhancing all four facilities to meet its premium standards even as customers continue to move in and out. Leasing offices will be upgraded to the brand's signature contemporary style, and the properties will feature proprietary AI-enabled cameras and sensors for added security, per the release. Customers will also get complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout each building, and the company says all four stores remain open for business during the renovations.

Customers can rent a storage unit online through securespace.com or call 877-399-0319 to speak with an agent. SecureSpace describes itself as a self-storage platform with locations across key urban markets in the U.S. and calls itself one of the fastest-growing self-storage platforms in the country.

A Crowded Market With Room to Spare

In a September 14, 2009 article, Inside Self Storage reported that the Dallas-Fort Worth MSA had 9.62 rentable square feet of self-storage supply per person, compared with demand of 5.42 rentable square feet per person. Separately, developers are projected to expand U.S. self-storage inventory by just 2.2% in 2026, the smallest delivery slate since 2016, per a Marcus & Millichap outlook.

A separate 2026 national report found that occupancy has softened modestly in markets that saw significant new deliveries, while overall supply growth is slowing across many regions, according to IRR.com. The same report noted rent growth has decelerated meaningfully from recent peaks, particularly in markets with heavier construction pipelines — a backdrop that frames just how competitive SecureSpace's new DFW footprint will be.

Big Deals Already Reshaping DFW Storage

SecureSpace isn't the only player making moves in the metroplex's storage sector. Public Storage recently acquired 56 facilities from All Storage for $1.5 billion, including 52 properties in Dallas-Fort Worth totaling 7.5 million net rentable square feet, according to StorageCafe. That deal pushed Public Storage's Dallas Metro portfolio to 15.5 million square feet of rentable storage across 172 locations.

Elsewhere in the metroplex, Marcus & Millichap brokered the sale of The IN Self Storage portfolio, a collection of four facilities totaling 1,041 units across 136,150 net rentable square feet, according to REBusinessOnline. Together, the transactions underscore just how much capital is flowing into Dallas-Fort Worth storage real estate even as supply already runs ahead of demand.
